Sri Lankan Cloves
Ceylon Cloves · Syzygium aromaticum
Karabu Nati
Cloves are the unopened flower buds of the clove tree, picked by hand at the moment they blush from green to pink. Sri Lankan cloves are known for their size, their unbroken heads and their high eugenol oil content — the measure by which clove quality is judged.
After picking, the buds are sun-dried on mats until they turn a deep reddish brown and snap cleanly. High oil content means our cloves feel heavy for their size and release a warm, sweet-sharp aroma the moment they are crushed.
We export whole hand-selected cloves for spice packers, tea and masala blenders, and food manufacturers who need consistent oil content batch after batch.
